all about us and a brief history
If your looking for someone to work on your trees, you want them to be as passionate about your trees as you are.
Hello! I’m James and I run Rose Tree Care. I’ve been working with trees since I was big enough to pick up a chainsaw and I haven’t stopped since.
As a company, we’ve been operating from our base in Kettering for over 10 years, growing organically over time; serving the local country estates, homeowners and commercial clients.
My personal passion with trees started whilst I was still in school, when by chance, I was offered a work placement with one of the Beat Foresters at the Northants Forestry Commission HQ at Fineshade woods. Learning about all of the different aspects of forestry and conservation work got me hooked, and I knew then that I would always have a career in trees. From leaving school I followed a academic route at Moulton College, studying countryside management. This gave me a great foundation in all aspects of rural management, and I took a great interest in the conservation and woodland management aspects of the course. From here I studied Forestry and Lowland Management at Sparsholt College in Hampshire.
Whilst studying at Sparsholt; I worked my way through university, production tree felling in forests of Hampshire and neighbouring Wiltshire. I was lucky enough to work and learn alongside some amazing foresters, and work in some of the ancient forests, such as Savernake forest; timber harvesting and carrying out conservation work on the veteran trees.
During my time at University, I was also lucky enough to work at some of the great country estates, such as Hatfield in Hertfordshire and Boughton Estate in Kettering.
After University, I continued forestry contracting on local estates; carrying out production felling & ride management. As time went on, the range of services we were asked to carry out increased, as did our range of clients. We were soon carrying out work for

Today the market place has become crowded; with more and more under experienced companies offering a limited range of services. We have always aimed to stand out above the crowd; by operating a unique fleet of machinery and vehicles for efficiently dealing with all manner of tree and vegetation projects
We have our own
We now employ 5 fulltime Arborists, who work as a close team with safety and professionalism at the heart of what we do. All of our staff are fully certified and have many additional qualifications such as machinery operations and First Aid + F.

Our client base now ranges from homeowners with small trees in residential properties, to large tree projects for developers and civil engineering projects
We also carry out conservation works for Wildlife
Never afraid of working away; we cover the whole South East and into London for our commercial clients
