At Rose Tree we specialise in Commercial tree and Vegetation management projects and often these are for derelict inner city sites and this one is typical of the complex multi waste projects we under take.
This project was a vacant site which was a former petrol station. The area had been vacant for some time and had become overgrown with trees and other vegetation.
The site was also being used for rough sleeping and drug taking so the vegetation was riddled with litter, drug paraphernalia and other unmentionable nasties.
Our client, a nationwide fuel retailer wanted the site cleared to alleviate antisocial behaviour and to allow surveyors on site to assess the feasibility of redevelopment of the site to a EV charging station.
Due to the hazard this site posed to users of the site we chose a fully mechanised approach utilising our range of machinery.
We started by clearing the easily accessible trees which had grown up around site, this was mostly small Birch and Buddleia and three very large Poplar trees which were on the boundary with a heavy crown bias towards the road.
We used our excavator mounted tree shear to fell the smaller trees. The large Poplars were felled with a little help from a cherry picker supplied by SKYlift Platforms and then mechanically chipped using our Bandit 990 chipper into our large hook loader chip bin. Utilising both our 8 ton Kubota chipper and and our smaller Bobcat 3 ton digger. We quickly removed the easy chippable vegetation from site.
The site was covered in a mix of ground vegetation and litter. We scrapped this up with our 8 tonne digger and sorted larger items into different recycling streams.
The vegetation and litter mix was removed from site using our own fleet of lorries to a specialist waste contractor to dispose of this hazardous waste safely and legally. .
Once finished, with all rubbish and vegetation removed we were proud to hand over the clean site to a very happy client.
