We were recently contracted by one of our local council clients to remove a large Wellingtonia tree that had entered severe decline and posed a significant risk of falling. Due to its size and proximity to public infrastructure, the project required careful planning and precision execution.
To safely dismantle the tree, we coordinated with a neighbouring supermarket to set up a 70-tonne crane. This allowed us to efficiently and securely remove the tree while minimising the risk of damage to surrounding trees, car park infrastructure, and public areas.
As the tree was protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO), we carried out thorough tree assessments and submitted a detailed application to the council to gain the necessary permissions before starting work.
Public safety was a top priority throughout the operation. We installed pedestrian barriers around our work zone within the supermarket area to ensure the public remained safely separated from the site.
Using a combination of specialist machinery including excavators, large-capacity chippers, and our fleet of HGVs, we were able to process and remove the timber efficiently, completing the project with minimal disruption.
At Rose Tree Care Ltd, we specialise in complex tree removals and large-scale Arboricultural projects for councils, commercial clients, and landowners. Whether it’s a protected tree or a site with restricted access, our experienced team is equipped to handle it safely and professionally.
