Its always sad when a large tree needs to be removed, unfortunately this Wellingtonia tree was causing damage to drains and infrastructure, so the at the request of the local Borough Council it was decided to remove the tree and replant something more suitable. For a big tree like this there is only one company with the experience and machinery to manage such a undertaking, and so, Rose Tree were called in to remove the tree. To minimise disruption to nearby residents we were only allocated one day to do the works, a tough job for any standard company but all in easy days work for us.
Utilising our large capacity chipper which we fed using our digger we quickly dismantled the tree, chipping up all the waste and removing the large timber back to our yard for milling.
We milled some of this wood in a demonstration at a country show later in the year.
